Mobile Architect (Contract)
Job Purpose:
My Client is looking for an experienced Mobile Architect with expertise in applications for mobile devices. The successful candidate will be working on high-level conceptual architectures and specific mobile app projects for our customers.
The architect will be responsible for contribution in creation of technology and architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategies of specific business units for one of our customers. The architect will be required to liaise with multiple diverse internal and external partners, both on business and technology side.
The architect capable of performing these duties is likely to have significant personal experience as a developer, architect or technologist as well as good understanding of business.
The position requires a person with excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Candidate will be working on mobile strategies
- Candidate will be working on broad spectrum of architectures from logical (concepts, capabilities), through software to physical (hardware, networking, devices).
- Candidate will liaise with business and technical stakeholders at the senior level.
- Candidate will participate in R&D activities.
- Candidate will perform corporate architecture governance functions.
Knowledge/experience:
- 10 years plus experience in the technology industry
- 10 years of Architecture experience
- Expert knowledge of the Mobile industry and technologies including smart phones and tablets development. Understanding of the mobile apps ecosystem.
- Experience in building end-to-end (client-side and Server Side) conceptual and solution architectures for mobile applications.
- Strong commitment to a cooperative team approach.
Skills:
- Expertise in at least one of the following, and preferably both:
- Native iOS development. Understanding of the iOS app life cycle and AppStore.
- Native Android development. Understanding of the Android app life cycle and Play Store. - Hands-on knowledge of cross-platform mobile development frameworks such as JQuery Mobile, PhoneGap, Sencha Touch and others is an advantage.
- Experience in building platforms, API design, RESTful web services. Detailed understanding of HTTP, security (OAuth, OpenID) and data formats (JSON, Atom, RSS) specifically. Python and DevOps experience is a plus.
