Traditional communication providers are undergoing many changes. The future of today's Operating Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) is at an inflection point. At our newly formed Development Center (DC)in Ireland we are pioneering new business and software architecture to support next generation products and solutions.
Development CenterIreland's mission is to position the company as a recognized technology leader in management software for communication systems (OSS and BSS). To achieve this we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline lab of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The DC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with European customers to address real-world issues. The DC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support technical projects.
About the Position
Wireless network planning and optimization are the foundation of network performance. The Automatic RF parameter planning technology is the Kernel of the SON CCO technology. R&D have been trying to explore the leading technology in rapid RF parameter optimization, to promote network performance and cut down network O&M cost.
Your responsibilities include:
- Guide and direct key technological trends of automatic RF planning and optimization.
- High performance RF parameters planning and optimization algorithm designing to improve UL/DL coverage and capacity.
- High performance coverage prediction algorithm designing.
- Discuss with customers on business requirements and present to stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications (domain specific, partial qualifications taken into account)
- Master or higher degree in computer science, software architectures and/or communications or significant relevant industry experience.
- 15+ industry years' experience, with at least 8+ years of R&D working experience in wireless network planning and optimization, network planning and optimization tools designing.
- In-deep knowledge of the algorithm design of network planning, simulation, propagation model, coverage predication, etc.
- Experience of software developing with one of the following languages: c/C++, Matlab, Java, C#, etc.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Worldwide short-term travels are required
- Hands-on and can-do attitude
Location
This is a Full time contractor position with 6 months renewable duration. This position will be based in our R&D office in Dublin, Ireland. Need to travel overseas according to business needs.
