Position: DBA EMEA ManagerBackground
The DBA EMEA Manager is a technical and management specialist who is responsible for management of the database team across multiple countries.
Database management includes the implementation of new functional databases delivered by project development, the implementation of new database system releases, the tuning, performance management and production support for databases and data management related issues.
Skills/Knowledge required:
- Bachelor degree computer science or Technical school accreditation,
- Knowledge of Sybase server 12.5 and 15.X software at the forefront. (ASE, Auditing Function, Encryption, MDA tables, DBCC)
- Knowledge of data architecture principles.
- Good knowledge of database administration, programming and systems analysis procedures.
- Good working knowledge of various RDBMS and OS environments specializing in Microsoft and some UNIX. These include Oracle 9i & 10g, SQL server 2005 and 2008, Solaris 8, DB2 9.5 Windows 2003, Sybase 15(crucial) Windows .
- High level of Windows Batch Scripting. Medium level of unix batch Scripting.
- PHP knowledge, Pro-Active DBA by Whitesands Ltd, Sitescope; all a bonus if have these skills
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- 7+ year Sybase ASE, 5+ year SQL server 2005 & 2008, 4+ year Oracle 9i & 10g, 4+ year DB2 9.5 Windows 2003 & AIX, Sun Solaris 8.
- Knowledge of Client Server systems, one or more programming languages a plus including PHP.
- Windows and Unix Scripting.
- Previous DBA Management experience
