I am currently working with one of my top clients in Boston on a Senior systems analyst role.The Manager is looking to hire a resource to work in IT and interface with the Quant team to improve performance, scalability, and productionize the prototype model processes. Will be expected to read R implemented prototypes, analyze and gather business intent, and document the model and its workflow.
Keys to the Position
Experience using a software statistical package (e.g. R or Matlab - we are currently using R so this is the strong preference)
Strong communication skills to interface with Quant team
Ability to produce excellent documentation (samples expected)
Strong Math and Statistics knowledge
Linux user experience
Proficient with SQL. Data mining and analysis experience a plus
Experience taking software projects thru the entire SDLC
Financial services experience is a plus
The project will automate and productionize quant trading processes. This position is responsible for business analysis and systems analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Systems and integration testing
- Partner with Application Architect to review and document business requirements
- Partner with Project Managers on estimates, statuses, identifying issues and raising risks
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to put into production software deliverables relevant to complex business problems.
Essentially we are looking a BA/SA with some R experience, who can quickly work within our technology stack (R, Oracle, SQL, Linux, Perl) and help us document already developed quant models and processes and gather requirements to put them into production. Our plan is to get several apps up and running with R (quant statistics language), some ETL transformation (we tend to use DataStage but not only option), ideally in the cloud (we're only using AWS). If a good candidate was rolling off or coming back to WMC that would also be a leg up as understanding WMC development/deployment/data is a plus.
