For one of our clients in Amsterdam we are looking for a passionate IT specialist, who loves to solve technical problems regarding stability, capacity, and performance of Calypso. Furthermore, he or she understands Production Support and is able to interact easily and efficiently with demanding users.
General knowledge/experience Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
Extended experience in large banks using Calypso preferably as an Ops Engineer or Support employee.
Minimum qualifications Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL.
• Hand-on knowledge of Linux and scripting.
• Good understanding of object oriented programming.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Continuous Delivery.
Preferred qualification Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL optimization and Oracle DB performance tuning.
• Deep understanding of and experience with capacity and performance management for a large scale critical application. Preferably, on a Java/Linux/Oracle stack within banking.
• Hands-on knowledge of Continuous Delivery tools such as: Nolio, Concordion, Git, ANT, Nagios, ITCAM, Logstash-Kibana-El.Search, Evolven, etc.
• Hands-on experience with object oriented programming, ideally, Java.
• Experienced with using ITIL processes.

Description Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
As an IT Operations Engineer you will be responsible for delivering a stable Calypso service. You will join one of the five Calypso scrum teams and contribute to the Continuous Delivery initiatives. Scrum is a way of working, focusing on iterative and incremental software development in small, multi-disciplinary teams. Continuous Delivery is a design practice to automate and improve the process of software delivery. You will be responsible for both the functional- and technical support of the Calypso application (24x7).
Description tasks employee Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
Calypso support activities, both technical and functional.
Performance optimization, Capacity Management and Performance Testing
Implementation of Countinuous Delivery tools such as Nolio
Regression testing automation
Automation of manual work and various health checks.
What has to be realized? Senior Calypso Specialist (QR2642):
Together with the team, the following need to be achieved in 6 months:
Improve the stability of the system and its overall performance.
Setup automatic performance testing and a solid Capacity Management process.
Of course, keeping the system running flawlessly is a core delivery.
