Description
POSITION SUMMARYA financial business consultancy and IT services provider in downtown Chicago is seeking a QA who has strong communication and collaboration skills. You will be doing Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) within Scrum teams to ensure business outcomes are delivered. You will be working closely with Product Owners and developers to provide in-sprint QA to match the team's definition of done and provide working software at the end of each sprint iteration. You will ensure quality of both the product as well as the test framework as it evolves. Each sprint you will be expected to identify necessary testing strategies and drive their implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertaking all forms of functional and non-functional testing
- Ownership of testing for individual projects including:
- Generating and managing exploratory testing sessions with the whole team.
- Executing exploratory testing sessions
- Test coverage and status reporting
- Co-ordinating testing activities of yourself and others.
- Working within agile development teams with a BDD approach to help define and refine requirements
- Analyze and identify key areas for automation using development skills, data manipulation skills and scripting skills- Report on testing progress and strategy and provide interpretation and insight on progress to inform management to take decisions
- Identify and raise risks to the project and product to key stakeholders
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- BA/BS in related field or commensurate work experience
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5+ years of experience as a QA-You will have hands-on development experience, ideally exposed to all parts of the software development lifecycle
- Background working in the banking or financial industry
- Experience with OTC derivatives, Murex, and other vendor systems
- Experience of designing acceptance test criteria for user stories and development tasks
