Description
Sr. Facilities Engineer (E & P Company)-Houston, TXOne of the largest Domestic and International E&P companies in the United States is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Facilities Engineer. The ideal candidate will join their growing team in Houston, TX.
This position includes the following functions to be performed in support of reservoir development and ongoing operations with focus on value optimization:
- Design of new surface oilfield facilities including flowlines, pipelines, manifolds, tank batteries, compressor stations, pumping/water disposal stations, and other general oil/water/gas separation, storage, sales, conditioning and processing facilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and refurbish existing surface oilfield facilities for optimum utilization in new development opportunities
- Project planning and management for safe execution of projects with defined scope, cost, schedule, and performance
- Design and develop cost estimates for oilfield development projects
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- A minimum of 6+ years work experience in facilities engineering and design of onshore oil and gas production, conditioning, and processing facilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability
- Demonstrated ability & desire for effective verbal and written communication within a multidiscipline team environment
- Self starter able to work with minimal supervision and direction
- Proficiency in hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, and system design
- Proficiency in or ability to learn applicable technical and economic analysis software
- Working knowledge of the following in context of upstream oil and gas operations: OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements
- Industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME Section 8, Div. 1 Pressure Vessel Code, etc.)
- Typical rotating and stationary equipment
- Typical materials of construction
- Process control elements and systems
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis.
- Working knowledge of corrosion engineering principles.
- Formal training and work experience in project management.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems and contracting.
- Ability to represent the company's interests with vendors and contract technical staff
- Working knowledge of typical onshore oil and gas construction practices
