The GE/IDX Analyst is responsible for working with all parties (and vendors) to project lead implementation, development, setup and overall support of the computerized business systems. The Analyst is the second level in the systems analyst series. At this level, incumbents demonstrate knowledge and experience of complex and specialized systems and programming tasks, under limited supervision, with more latitude for independent action. They are also responsible for oversight of thoroughly testing all system upgrades, system changes prior to go-live and work with the end-users to test and determine the impact on workflow, reporting, etc. of the upgrade/change. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for the development of test plans, leading the end users in the testing plan, documenting the test plan and making any necessary changes to the system. Acts as a project leader between the end-user community and the IT department.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree, with a technical major such as Computer Science required or


Experience:
  • 5 years of Information Systems, application development and programming experience required.
  • 2 years of experience with report writing tools (e.g. Crystal)
  • 2 years experience in customer support, computer operations, business operations, programming, or another related field required


Skills:
  • Aptitude for details: demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills; able to mediate conflicts; self starter; able to meet deadlines; and maintain meticulous documentation
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to express opportunities for improvement and innovative ways to improve the use of the systems supported
  • Ability to teach computer applications to people with varying degrees of computer experience
  • Ability to facilitate complex workflow discussions and collaborate to conclusion
  • Ability to deliver presentations to a diverse group of key stakeholders and customers
  • Working knowledge of principles of software design and modification
  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of networked/distributed computing environment concepts
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements desired
