An opportunity has arisen to join a superb rising star within the Commodities Consultancy space, with global reputation and strong client base located in numerous countries worldwide.

The Role

The role sits within analytics team who specialises in the analysis and forecasting of long term developments in the international oil, gas and chemical shipping markets. The role will focus on producing insight and analysis for midstream / shipping sector of the market including looking into supply and demand economics and asset valuations. The role is research based including qualitative market report writing in addition to quantitative work. This quantitative work will include working with raw data and producing long term market modelling (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years into the future) / trade modelling including time series forecasting.

Furthermore, the nature of project work you will contribute towards is extremely commercial, including working in partnership with some of the largest consultancies in the world providing advisory services. Furthermore, there is a large amount of work with Private Equity Funds, Infrastructure funds that you will engage with as well focusing on asset valuations.

The Person

- A strong numerate degree ideally in Economics / Mathematics / Chemical Engineering or similar from a top tier University is ESSENTIAL (MSc, MA, PhD or Equiv would be ideal).

- An analytical mind set along with the quantitative and conceptual problem solving experience.

- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.

- 3+ years of industry experience focusing on energy market analysis. You do not have to of specialised in shipping previously, but you must have a desire and an interest to work in this market and make an impact.

-Strong Excel ability.
