Communications Assistant -  Global Banking and Markets - HSBC

HSBC and its constituent business lines are frequently invited by the media to pitch for awards or participate in polls.The awards/polls can be global, regional or local in nature.  All HSBC businesses are generally in favour of pursuing awards.

The purpose of this role is to proactively assist the Head of Awards and Surveys with the coordination and management of the awards/polls process throughout the period of an awards cycle, including helping provide guidance, advice, quality control, pitch arrangement and post award management (including ceremony management and internal socialisation of awards). This role covers all international awards across HSBC.

Duties will include:

  • Support the Head of Awards and Surveys and the global business line communications teams to ensure consistent awards messaging and positioning
  • Assist with the coordination of  award pitch submissions, both written and verbal
  • Support awards quality control - look and feel/editorial standards
  • Assist with polls process, ensuring participants understand procedures and timelines
  • Assist with researching suitability of awards and ensure full understanding of awards/polls process, to ensure timely delivery of pitches and to seek final outcomes
  • Assist with post award process - award collections/award dinners etc
  • Run awards calendar (to include award submission dates/cycles)

Experience/skills required:

  • Strong editing and writing skills
  • Understanding of banks and banking products
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of management
  • Results driven
  • Track record of creating lasting, positive relations with key stakeholder groups
