Description
As a member of the Executive Hospital board, the postholder will be responsible for the effective professional leadership of all Clinical directorates and staff, responsible for overseeing the highest standards of Patient Safety in line with current legislation.In addition to this, key duties will also include:
- Provide professional advice to the rest of the Executive Board and Chief Executive.
- Act as the Responsible Officer in line with current guidelines by ensuring the implementation and maintenance of robust Clinical Governance systems.
- To work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing to develop a culture which embeds Clinical Quality and Governance and monitors its effectiveness.
- Responsible officer as the organisation's Caldicott Guardian
- Act as the accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs
- Accountable for a team of 3 Senior Managers responsible for Safeguarding, Clinical Governance and Assurance.
- Provide guidance on initiatives from NICE and other external bodies.
- Contribute to the overall management of the Hospital
- Participate in the Executive Director On-Call Rota
- Lead on the improvement and development of care pathways across clinical and professional communities.
- Work with Governance and Operations colleagues to develop strategies, systems and processes.
- Lead on all Medical Directorate transformation and cost improvement plans.
- Act as Hospital Lead on all CQC requirements / inspections
