Commercial Shipping Analyst: Demurrage/Ship Management/Global Oil Co.

This Global Shipping Company has an exciting opportunity for a Demurrage/Voyage Analyst with good experience within Ship Management to join their Commercial Shipping team. This is an interesting role with strong long-term prospects which will be ideal for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and prepare freight, hire, demurrage, deviation and expense claims
  • Work in accordance with governing charter parties.
  • Negotiate demurrage claims with 3rd party and Group Charterers to ensure final collection
  • Maintain day-to-day credit control procedures
  • Manage working capital, keeping outstanding invoices to a minimum
  • Verify vendor invoices for voyage related bunker costs and brokers' commissions
  • Review port cost charges to identify recoverable costs
  • Ensuring recovery claims are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain performance records of vessels time chartered in and out
  • Identify claims and liabilities under the governing time charter parties
  • Analyse financial performance of voyages and compare to expected results
  • Working with Performance Analysts to ensure completeness and accuracy of voyage P&L
  • Monthly ledger P&L reconciliations

About You:

  • Minimum two years Shipping Industry
  • Familiar with demurrage analysis
  • Good voyage analysis skills, freight rate knowledge
  • Ideally from a Ship Management background
  • Exposure to chartering and finance
  • Keen and enthusiastic to grow your career within a first-class environment
