ROLE PURPOSE
We are setting up a project to migrate applications from Legacy Servers to our internal cloud and are looking for an experienced Database Administrator available from Sep-15th to Dec-19th to:
*Provide consulting regarding the planning phase of DB migration. Assist Business and Application analyst for DB migration/upgrades planning.
*Responsible to execute database migrations to our virtual environment following defined processes
o Review database schemas, tables, procedures and permissions.
o Modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application engineers
o Back-up and restore databases
o Export and import databases
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
*Knowledgeable in Database Administration for Oracle and MSSQL databases
o Knowledge of database theory and design
o Knowledge of structured query language (SQL)
o General understanding of distributed computing architectures
o General understanding of the underlying operating system, eg Windows, Unix, Linux etc
o General understanding of storage technologies, memory management, disk arrays, networking
o General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and handling failover of a Database
*Fluent in English - oral and written
*Understanding of GxP and SOX is desired
*Previous experience in Application Migration project in a regulated environment is a defining factor
*Ability to work in an international as well as multicultural environment
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Flexibility and experience in prioritizing tasks
*Ability to flow to the work and get hands on when needed.
