The initial focus will be on key DB2 functionality improvement projects and to apply DBA expertise to solutions design.

The successful candidate will provide the following services;

  • Deliver on tasks autonomously and collaboratively, consistent with management priorities and Business Intelligence Platform architecture, standards and practices;
  • Develop and implement enhanced functionality by building (or refining existing) tools and procedures that improve productivity of DB2 DBA/Developer performance to support the ongoing stabilisation, measurement and timely delivery of DW assets.
  • Improve functionality to be delivered (with supporting documentation) which may include:
    • revised DB2 security management tools, procedures and related processes;
    • a performance activity dashboard and/or elements that are input to a future dashboard; eg Data Marts that source and aggregate event or other data;
    • DB2 Workload Management (WLM) requirements, options, specifications;
    • Trusted Context;
    • Federated DB2;

To be successful your skills and experience will focus on the following;

  • IT experience, including DB2 DBA expertise;
  • DB2 for LUW DBA skills (current to v9.7; and preferably to v10.1 or v10.5);
  • Working knowledge of AIX operating system from a DB2 DBA perspective;
  • Proficiency in high performance SQL and DB2 procedure Scripting, with working knowledge of Unix and/or relevant languages (eg Perl, Shell) and ETL concepts;
  • Demonstrable experience in configuring/building solutions for (at least two of): DB2 WLM; Trusted Context; event monitor information analysis, federated solutions, etc;
  • Evidence of relevant experience (mandatory);

This opportunity is for ASAP start and provides long term tenure with options for extensions.
