Not In Our Town is a movement to stop hate, address bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities for all. Not In Our Town films, new media, and organizing tools help local leaders build vibrant, diverse cities and towns, where everyone can participate. Not In Our Town is the primary project of Oakland-based nonprofit The Working Group.

NIOT.org is the digital home of the Not In Our Town project, where visitors can find hundreds of short films, sample materials, and action guides that serve our audience of civic, community, school and law enforcement leaders.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Not In Our Town seeks a savvy social media consultant to spread news through our community and school Facebook and Twitter channels and help grow our audience.

This is an hourly position with the possibility of telecommuting.

Specific tasks include:

Create, maintain and implement social media calendar, working, as needed, with colleagues in web/marketing/development.

Find audience-appropriate to share and engage our audience

Develop monthly strategies and reports for social media

Work with internal TWG team through approval processes and strategic content planning

Prepare monthly newsletters to reach our email subscribers

REQUIREMENTS

1+ Year experience running social media channels for a cause-based organization

Experience in online organizing, specifically creating web-based campaigns

Ability to multitask, be proactive and meet deadlines

Well-organized, hard-working and able to work independently

SEM Experience a plus

COMPENSATION

This is an hourly position.
