Senior Data Scientist
For prestigious client we are currently looking for a senior Data Scientist
Key Skills:
- Strong statisticians skills
- Numerate academic background (often MSc and above in subjects such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics or similar). Sound programming skills are required to manipulate data and undertake advanced statistical analysis.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate experience and knowledge of:
*Advanced knowledge/understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques, eg multivariate regression, Bayesian inference, generalized linear models, Bayesian networks.
*Databases and statistical software, in particular R and SQL.
*Other computer software knowledge like Hadoop, Hive, Mapreduce
Tasks:
*Use statistical and financial modelling methods for insight into the key driver of over/under performance.
*Lead research into key issues, eg cycle management and apply relevant ideas leading to practical solutions.
*Present results of analysis to a variety of audiences with different levels of experience.
*To manipulate, analyse and interpret client's data returns - to draw appropriate conclusions and make recommendations for the business.
*Analysing the client's performance in context of the wider finance industry and macro-economic environment
