Our direct client has an opening for a WebSphere Administrator/Designer in Austin, TX. This is a contract role with extensions being likely.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of experience in implementing complex integration solutions with high application failover and high availability.
- 5 years of experience communicating effectively with audience of varying technical aptitudes.
- 5 years of experience with strong technical knowledge in WebSphere Application Server installation, configuration and administration including implementation, fail-over, scaling and performance tuning, Web server setup, complex secure sockets layer (SSL) configuration on IBM HTTPs Sever.
- 5 years of experience with the following WebSphere technology adapters: JMS, JDBC, Text, File and SMTP.
- 5 years of experience in distributed systems using the J2EE Technologies for various services and integrated with WebSphere.
- 5 years of experience in deployment of J2EE application Archives (war, ear) on WebSphere Application.
- 5 years of knowledge with J2EE Architecture (JSP, EJB, JDBC, JNDI, JMS, Servlets, RMI CORBA, JavaScript, JACL, XML).
- 3 years of experience in applying patches and plug-ins for WebSphere Application Server.
- 3 years of experience working with IBM on PMR's.
- 2 years of experience in SOA technologies ( ESB, SCA, SDO, CBE), message transport technologies (MQ, JMS, (S), HTTP(S), SSL), Web Services Technologies (SOAP, WSDL, WS-*) data mapping and transformation technologies (XML, XSD, XSLT, XPATH), and data base technologies (JDBC, Oracle/SQL).
- 2 years of experience implementing solutions based on SOA, JEE, and Web Services using IBM WebSphere products including Integration Developer 6.1-7.0, Process Server 6.1-7.0, Enterprise Services Bus 6.1-7.0, WebSphere Application 6.1.
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Business or computer field OR equivalent work experience.
PREFERENCES:
- 2 years of experience with systems and technologies related to the electric utility industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installing, maintaining and monitoring the WAS environment for the Meter Data Management System Application.
- Assisting in the building of the MDM system, clustering and disaster recovery, logging and monitoring.
- Overseeing WebSphere WAS environments installation, configuration and administration in support of Meter Data Management application implementation.
- Participating in design sessions and collaborates in technical teams in system implementation for a complex integration solution.
- Supporting project team activities in development, test, and production environments.
- Implementing clustering and disaster recovery configurations as required.
