A Government Department at Canberra seeks the services of an experienced Senior Developer to undertake technical application systems development activities in support of key projects and major system changes forecast for .

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in working on large IT projects throughout all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Proven and extensive technical expertise as a Senior Developer.
  • Be good communicators, have good analysis and problem solving skills, show initiative and be outcomes focussed.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse client base, be effective team players and make positive contributions to team outcomes.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with technical delivery teams to ensure compliance to the agreed architecture.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical documentation.

Extensive experience in the following is required:

  • Java, J2EE;
  • XML, XSLT, Web Services;
  • MS SQL or Oracle.

Extensive experience in the following is highly desirable:

  • WebSphere Applications Server;
  • Microsoft C# DotNet.

Experience in several of the following is desirable:

  • (GNU) C, C++ and Shell Scripting;
  • SoftwareAG's WebMethods; WebMethods CAF and/or WebMethods ISMS;
  • DB2;
  • PL/SQL, PRO*C;
  • WebSphere MQ
  • Datapower appliance configuration and use;
  • Sybase PowerBuilder.
  • CA Gen
  • IBM Mainframe

The contract period is up to 30th June 2015 with further 12 months extension possibilities.

Australian Citizenship is required while a Baseline security Clearance is highly desirable.
