Description
Roland Corporation U.S, a major distributor of electronic musical equipment, has an immediate opening for a temporary, full-time contract position as a front-end web developer in our Los Angeles office. This contract position is initially for three months but could go longer. We’re in the process of launching two new global web properties, and need an experienced front-end developer to help meet aggressive deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and deployment of two major site redesigns.
- Build front-end UI for local integrations including user registration, product registration, email support, dealer locator, rebate redemption, and more.
- Customize two WordPress blogs to match look and feel of main site.
- Help port over existing content into new site framework.
- Assist in optimizing site for performance and accessibility.
- Occasional content management duties including image preparation.
- Strong understanding of web standards, usability/accessibility best practices, and design principles.
- Extensive knowledge of jQuery and other Javascript frameworks/libraries including Backbone and Underscore.
- Experience with compiled CSS using SASS/SCSS, Compass, LESS, etc.
- Experience developing responsive web applications with Retina display support.
- Ability to edit and customize Wordpress themes.
- Solid understanding of JSON, XML and connecting to public APIs.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to operate under time constraints.
- Comfortable working on a team.
