Electronics Design Engineer - Hardware / Contract / Stockport / Excellent Rates / 6 Months /My client is a market leading manufacturer of gas detectors, environmental monitoring systems and sensors, for safety monitoring solutions that are relied on in the world's most demanding environments.
They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer (contractor) to work on a wide range of product development projects from inception to completion.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary product development team this role will suit an Electronics / Hardware Design Engineer that has experience designing networked and portable devices, in liaison with Software & Mechanical Engineers, integrating sensor technology with embedded micro-controller hardware and software.
Experience working to Safety Critical standards would be a distinct advantage.
Skills/Experience
- Knowledge of ATEX and IECEx standards and approvals process, especially for Intrinsically Safe products.
- Knowledge and experience of EMC and LVD design approvals process
- Exposure to functional safety design concepts and standards
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the specification, design and development of analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits and products.
- Design for manufacture and test
- Working with mechanical designers in 3D CAD to develop products
- Knowledge and experience in technical challenges around use of encapsulation and other manufacturing techniques
- Strong bench test, debugging and prototyping skills, use of complex test equipment
- Knowledge of wireless networking, Ethernet, RS, CANBUS, Modbus/Profibus and other protocols
- Experience of Altium Designer for both Schematic Capture and PCB layout
