Our client, a microelectronic manufacturing organisation, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work within its major office. They are looking for a suitable candidate to join ASAP, with the position based in the Netherlands. This will be a 12 months contract, with potential to turn into a permanent position.Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will require a deep knowledge of mechanical engineering, in particular with fast moving pick and place equipment. He/she will drive the development of assembly equipment, with respect to mechanical concepts, which form the basis for this equipment. Based on specific knowledge of mechanical principles, he/she will define future machine architectures together with mechatronic, software and electrical engineers. He/she will take into account technical boundaries on one-hand and customer requirements on the other hand to set-up the mechanical development plan, and will be responsible for the feasibility of that plan.
He/she will coach a team of mechanical engineers and drive the effectiveness of working methods.
The Mechanical Engineer will be a known expert in his/her field. He/she will maintain a network of contacts inside and outside the organisation to stay in touch with the latest technology and evaluate new technology on applicability for our products.
He/she will also act as a project leader, writing the project plan, monitoring progress and budget and reporting to customer and management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Around 5 years of experience in development and projects relating to High-tech equipment
Must have extensive mechanical experience in fine-mechanical equipment (pick and place machines) ideally in the Semiconductor industry
Excellent communication skills
Experience with project management
Analytical and architectural thinking skills
