Software Developer

Description

For this exciting new vacancy, we are seeking a dynamic developer to begin work on an exciting four month contract for our client, a large European governmental agency, based in Canary Wharf.

This role:

The new system you will be working with will be delivered on a Java/Weblogic platform, connected to an Oracle Database and this will be the development environment.

Knowledge of Java and XML are key since most of the implementation will rely Java Frameworks and XML Messaging.

The work required therefore comprises:

Understand the business processes to be implemented

Design and implement software, based on requirements and analysis artefacts supplied by the System Analysts.

Implement and perform unit tests.

Document the software produced.

Implement and maintain the necessary software development lifecycle artefacts.

Ensure that all documentation required by IT procedures is available and consistent.

Contribute in the evaluation and introduction of new technologies, when required.

Monitor and address issues raised by our client's static code analysis software.

Monitor and address defects raised by our client's defect tracking system by the testing team.

Demonstrate very good analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

Demonstrate very good team spirit and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

Be customer oriented.

Have very good communication skills.

Have a very good command of English and preferably of another EU language.
