MobileOS/TerminalOS Senior Kernel Engineer
A MobileOS/TerminalOS Senior Kernel Engineer is urgently required by our leading tech client.
The successful MobileOS/TerminalOS Senior Kernel Engineerwill have the following experience:
§ Daily Kernel troubleshoot, debugging, optimizing and maintaining for project linux Kernel trees;
§ Optimization and maintaining of ARM 64bit Linux Kernel for Android-based smart phones/tablets;
§ Research and optimization of Linux Kernel scheduler/load balancer and power framework (such as cpufreq, hotplug, cpuidle, etc) to reduce power consumed by tasks on multi-cores without a significant impact on user experience of smart phones/tablets;
§ Research and optimization of some Linux Kernel common subsystems for Android-based smart phones/tablets;
§ Research and development of new generation of Kernel-based power/performance debug/monitor/profile tools to get full software stack visibility for Android-based smart phones/tablets;
§ Development of the tools/utilities to support the product development process;
§ Actively participating in the Linaro Kernel/power management workgroup;
§ Communicating with, co-operating with the Kernel teams in China;
§ Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, software architecture and/or communications
§ Excellent C programming skills
§ Excellent Linux Kernel common subsystem and/or device driver development experience;
§ Excellent Linux Kernel debugging and performance tuning experience. dtrace/systemtap/ktap is a plus;
§ Work experience with ARM hardware architecture is a plus;
§ Experience and knowledge of Linux Kernel power framework/subsystem is a plus;
§ Excellent experience with the Linux development tools such as GNU toolchain.
§ Excellent experience with open source project development (such as Linux Kernel community, etc)
§ Experience with Android development is a plus;
§ Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Chinese would be a plus.
§ Strong writing and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences;
§ Ability to work in a diverse working environment;
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Contract: 6 months.
