Role: Auditor
Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Duration: 6+ Months Initially with possible extension
Note: CTC Clearance is required for this role.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum two year's audit experience
- At least part-qualified as auditor or accountant
- An inquisitive nature with a questioning and interested mindset.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience of contract management and/or financial control gained within a large organization
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Making Effective Decisions: Use decision-making criteria and guidance to draw conclusions about the robustness of areas under audit review. Challenge suppliers but be pragmatic in your engagement.
- Achieving Commercial Outcomes: Take time to listen and understand the concerns of category teams and of suppliers. Suggest solutions which are practical and feasible.
- Delivering Value for Money: Keep track of time spent on various tasks, track against budgeted time, identify and discuss variances if they start to arise. Challenge self and others to achieve outcomes in different ways if it is acknowledged that the current way is inefficient or ineffective.
- Manage a Quality Service: Perform and document audit testing work in line with the methodology. Draft high quality reports and recommendations for review by senior team member.
- Delivering at Pace: Work in an organised manner using own knowledge and expertise to deliver on time and to standard. Work with energy and pace to get the job done. Remain focussed on delivery.
Main Purpose
- To support and assist the Lead Supplier Audit Manager (and, in turn, the Head of Internal Audit who leads the AAU) in providing assurance to the wider organisation on:
- the accuracy, appropriateness and completeness of management information returns made by suppliers in relation to framework business;
- the timely and accurate payment of invoices;
- the delivery on other framework terms and conditions; and
- the accuracy and appropriateness of charging levels to customers.
- The Supplier Auditor will be personally responsible for (largely) independently delivering a substantial portion of the overall supplier audit work programme.
- The Supplier Auditor will be responsible for end-to-end planning, conduct and reporting of audit work; and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- To take ownership for the planning, delivery and reporting of your allocation of the work programme.
- Careful time management in order to maintain a high level of personal utilisation.
- Upfront engagement with relevant CCS category team to understand the framework, the supplier and wider context.
- Upfront engagement with suppliers to discuss deliverables, timescales, approach to be adopted etc.
- Desktop preparation for audit visit, including data review and analysis; and development of detailed work programme.
- Onsite audit visit (usually one full day, occasionally two) to conduct fieldwork in line with standardised methodology; using initiative and asking pertinent questions where required.
- Documenting fieldwork and findings and drafting report and recommendations.
- Engaging in the internal quality assurance process, responding openly to feedback and comments from those reviewing work and draft report.
- Delivering draft report to category teams, explaining and exploring findings as required.
