Job Description

The EMEA Operations Risk Management team forms part of the EMEA Global Markets Operations department. They provide independent assessment/monitoring of risk and control issues across Global Securities Operations.

Responsibilities include:
Providing quality assurance & control over Operations key control processes
Providing an independent assessment of control and risk issues for senior leadership of Operations and outside Risk organisations
Working with Operations line management to strengthen the control environment and improve control culture & practises
Embedding a risk awareness culture across the Global Markets Operations
Providing an oversight responsibility across regulatory processes within EMEA GMO&MO
Reviewing and analysing risk data including; Credit Alerts, New Product Reviews, Operational Losses, Regulatory submissions, Audit Status reporting, Sox and Finance reporting.
Providing Risk Business analysis on strategic risk change programmes and directing priorities to remediating technology change requirements to mitigate those risks identified

Responsibilities
*Acting as the day-to-day contact for the Global Asset transfer project and other global risk initiatives projects.
*Monitoring all PCS gaps for EMEA asset transfer systems and assisting LOB to re-mediate gaps to closure ensuring successful implementation in conjunction with PCS standards
*Preparing regular reporting back to Senior Management on the status on all gaps.
*Assisting the LOB in completing their bi-annual Asset Transfer PCS assessment
*Performing in depth analysis of the gaps to determine whether or not the resolution would require Technology involvement.
*Work closely with other divisions eg Technology, Projects, Audit, Compliance and our risk partners on key control issues to develop appropriate processes where projects solutions cross multiple lines of business
*Assisting the LOB with development of control policies and procedures
*Assisting LOB in developing SIAI's and coordination of tollgates with Corporate Audit and COO team
*Monitor/gather/provide status reporting of issue remediation plan milestones to the Audit Liaison team
*Assisting in the completion of pre-audit review documentation
*Assisting the LOB with control implementation/modification based on regulatory updates.

Requirements

*Risk Analysis skills (data and process)
- Ability to analyse control process to identify key issues eg review control processes, map out key controls, identify control gaps and make recommendations. Ability to analyse complex data and make an assessment of risk eg review key risk and environmental indicators for a product and determine H,M,L risk status. Review incidents and loss events establish exposure and recommendations for change

*Influence
- Ability to influence outside of direct team to facilitate changes to control environment eg through review of incidents and losses. Ability to challenge in a firm but non confrontational manner

*Organisational Skills
- Excellent Organisational & Multi-tasking skills to support monthly risk process whilst at same time addressing variety of ad-hoc requests and issues as they arise. Ability to work to tight deadlines and produce accurate and complete analysis

*Communication
- Ability to deal and communicate at all levels within the organisation. Advanced written, verbal and presentational skills. Ability to discuss and defend risk opinion to senior management and product line 'expert'

*Control policy
- Detailed understanding of operations support functions (securities and asset servicing) processes, procedures, controls and Practices. Ability to be able to advise on appropriate approach, policies and standards for the respective operations product areas

*Product experience
- Knowledge across operations product processes and control environment (Asset servicing and securities)

*Regulatory environment
- Understanding of the regulatory environment as it applies to operations and specifically for transaction reporting and client money
