Production Planner (fixed-term contract)

My client, a gold standard global Medical Device company are looking for a Production Planner.

You will be involved in the entire implementation of production plans from the word go on this brand new product. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be part of a team responsible for the transfer of new products to the site including dealings with new suppliers and clients. You will coordinate supply chain activities across Planning, Purchasing, Warehousing and Packaging and ensure an integrated supply chain plan is developed and all milestones are achieved.

Responsibilities include working both cross site and with other departments to facilitate milestone development, project risk mitigation and communication on all supply chain deliverables.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating all supply chain activities (Planning/ Purchasing/ Warehousing/ Packaging) associated with the introduction of new products to the site.
  • Establishing a supplier base to ensure that raw materials are on site to support project requirements
  • Actively engage with Global Supply Chain team to review IOL S&OP and to provide new products supply forecasts.
  • Scheduling, management & monitoring of intraocular lens (IOL) production to meet launch requirements.
  • Proactively identify, report & resolve constraints within the end-to-end Supply Chain which will impact launch dates and other key supply chain metrics.
  • Generate and present daily / weekly / monthly reports and metrics as appropriate.
  • Achieve Raw and Finished Goods Inventory levels in line with Global Supply chain business objectives
  • Lead regular internal supply chain reviews to ensure supply chain readiness.


Experience / Qualifications:
  • Degree in relevant discipline and/or APICS OR at least 3 years' direct experience in a Materials function (Purchasing/Planning/Warehouse/Distribution).
  • Project management experience with new product launches preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-national supply chain environment preferred.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills, good written and verbal skills, math and analytical skills.
  • Strong Computer Application ability (ERP systems)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
