Control Systems Engineer, Matlab, Simulink, Power Electronics, Staffordshire, West Midlands, £40-£50ph, 6 months
THE PROJECT:
A leading power electronics company in Staffordshire, West Midlands have an immediate requirement for a Control Systems Engineer with Matlab and Simulink programming experience to join the new R&D division for an initial 6 month contract period. The R&D team specialise in designing new system concepts for high voltage transmission systems.
For this role you should have strong experience with Control Systems, with the ability to programme in Matlab and Simulink.
For this initial piece of project work you will be required to do low level modelling of power electronics.
Therefore it is important you have a good knowledge of power electronics, and have an understanding of IGBTs, thyristors, converters etc. Experience in High Voltage power electronics is desirable but not essential for this work.
You should be someone who can work to project timescales, would thrive in a R&D team environment and wants to work at the forefront of technology in Power.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Control System experience
- Matlab and Simulink
- Power Electronics knowledge (IGBT's, thyristors and passive components)
- Done modelling of power electronics at a low level, rather than at an application level
