Our client, a microelectronic manufacturing organisation, is looking for a Senior Opto-Mechanical Development Engineer to work within their major office. They are looking for a suitable candidate to join ASAP, for a position based in the Netherlands. This will be a 12 month contract then developing into a permanent position.

Job Description
The Senior Opto-Mechanical Development Engineer works within one of the product development teams.
• S/he will be responsible for the development of new concepts for assembly equipment or building blocks to improve or speed-up existing equipment focused on optical-mechanical devices;
• Conduct pre-studies (calculations, experiments, measurements) to verify ideas and adjust the global design, if necessary;
• S/he is responsible for the optical-mechanical design in the project team, including estimations of time required and costs involved;
• Compile System Performance Requirement (SPR) or Unit Performance Requirement (UPR) and verify if the objective is conceptually feasible ;
• Work closely together with Sourcing Manager in outsourcing sub-activities to suppliers;
• Documentation and archiving of the designs in TPD and manuals;
• Responsible for CE compliance of the equipment.

Job Requirements
• University graduate MSc in Mechanical engineering is minimum requirement;
• Over 5 years proven skills / experience in high performance mechachronic equipment development, focused on optical-mechanical devices;
• Track record of precision optical system designs; background in electronic component assembly equipment is a preference;
• Vast experience in Mechanical CAD design/ PDM / MATLAB simulation/ FEM modelling. Experience with Zemax is a preference;
• Mature, with solution oriented attitude and innovative;
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English;
• Good interpersonal skills and able to deliver results through determination and team-work;
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, Six Sigma);
• Able to work independently and coach team members.
