About the Role
The Technical IT organization is responsible for development, procurement and global deployment and support of technical applications that are being used by Engineers across various businesses globally. Most applications are 3rd party applications that we procure and deploy. Some applications involve proprietary development.
The current Job Position of MS Web Application developer involves further extension of design and implementation of our proprietary Data Capture and Metrics Tool (DCMT). This is an Intranet web application which captures and classifies cost and resource data metrics of engineering projects executed in the past for the purpose of benchmarking future investment opportunities.
DCMT release 3.0 is capable of loading data from excel templates into a SQL server database, using MS SSIS, and it can provide simple reports using SSRS. For release 3.1 we aim to build an Intranet application that provides multi-user, interactive data query, and editing.
The selected candidate will work in a small team with 3 direct colleagues. Base location is Rijswijk, with a lot of virtual (MOC) interaction with colleagues, service providers and end-users around the globe.
Primary scope of activities:
1) Specify functionality of the application using UML models, working with a business analyst and business SME.
2) Specify prototypes of the Graphical User interface.
3) Build an HTML5 compliant interactive web application
4) Prepare and Execute Unit Tests.
5) Work with our testing center of excellence for system tests.
6) Collaborate in User Acceptance testing.
7) Prepare application configuration management documentation and provide knowledge transfer to a remote support organisation
8) Maintain and extend the SQL server data model for DCMT
9) Maintain and extend the SSIS loading packages for DCMT
10) Develop, maintain and extend interfaces to external systems
