For a longterm project at our industrial client site in Zurich Winterthur, we are looking for an experiencedIT Infrastructure Project Manager (2472)
Reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure Projects you will have a lead role in Project Management working in very close collaboration with different Center of Excellences, Project Management Office and other IT and business stakeholders globally.
You are joining a highly motivated team with a very broad expertise that is located in three major IT hub locations.
Strong communication skills, a sense of urgency and the ability to keep track of the overall picture are main attributes of you for success in this challenging but interesting role.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing build and change projects in the area of IT infrastructure, from conception through to handover to operations.
Your main project focus will be infrastructure related, nevertheless we expect project managers to jump-in wherever required.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities
As Project Manager you will be responsible for:
> Lead project planning, scheduling, resource management, tasks tracking and reporting activities for projects which can range from small to quite large and complex in scale and budget
> Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
> Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to customer
> Effectively applies project management methodology and enforces our clients IT project standards
> Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
> Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately, maintains project repositories
> Contributes to requirements engineering, project definition/scoping
> Ensure that task requests are complete and delivered within the designated timeframe
> Minimizes our exposures and risks on projects
> Act as contact person for both IT operations and internal departments when organizing system outages/upgrades to IT infrastructure as projects demand
> Advise and execute workflow process improvements/efficiencies
> Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
> Holds regular status meetings with project team
> Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
> Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on agreed basis
Your Profile:
> We expect a profound education in Computer Science or similar field
> Preferably minimum 3-5 years broad working experience in project management internationally
> You must have an in depth understanding of project methodologies (e.g. PMP / PMI, PRINCE2, Swiss IPMA), approaches (lean, agile, waterfall, etc.), requirements engineering, risk management, as well as a good understanding of IT infrastructure and operations.
> Knowledge of ITIL principles and processes is beneficial
> You must be able to work within a very diverse team in a virtual, geographically dispersed and culturally diverse environment, and with a wide array of stakeholders
> Good knowledge of Microsoft System Center, Server and Client products is beneficial
> Self-driven and proactive, and able to follow and develop global processes and governance including guidelines, regulations and standards
> The position is based in Winterthur, Switzerland including some international travel (as per project requirement)
> Fluent in English and German (oral and written)
