Description
Brand new and urgent vacancy for a Mechanical Design Engineer for an initial 3 month contract in Surrey. I am hoping to organise interviews next week and you may be able to start before Christmas.
You will work with the Engineering Team in the delivery of project and product line requirements. My client is an exciting place to work- it encourages and facilitates its Design Engineers to follow and participate in the evolution of their product designs through the whole product life cycle of concept, detailing, manufacture, build, test and through life support. There is a variety of programme timescales ranging from a few weeks to a few years which means that you can very quickly make, and see, tangible impacts from applying your expertise to our products as well as following structured engineering processes.
More specifically, you will:
* Work on solid modelling and detailing of products using SolidWorks.
* Create Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD models and engineering drawings.
* Engineer to all appropriate product targets eg cost, weight, strength etc.
* Assist in the generation of, and delivery to, project timing.
* Ensuring appropriate material selection.
* Ensuring manufacturing feasibility of product designs.
* Work in accordance to ISO9000 procedures.
I am seeking someone who has:
* Experience in automotive/defence engineering environments.
* Experience in design/manufacturing techniques for low/medium volume production.
* Experience of concept creation and development.
* Knowledge of workshop theory and practice.
