Description
We are currently seeking a COBOL programmer to begin work on a 12 month contract for our client, a major player in the insurance sector, based in Brussels.Candidates must speak either French or Dutch (one fluently, the other good or basic) and have experience in the insurance industry.
The candidate will work within the Life Insurance department in a team responsible for Mainframe Life Insurance developments (maintenance and new functionalities) like rating, database update & consulting, batch contract modification
The software is developed on a COBOL / DB2 Mainframe infrastructure, serving various technologies on the Front-end side
You will be responsible for:
- Detailed technical design, programming and unit-testing based on the functional design made by the functional designer or Architect
- Software development and implementation following strongly imposed technical standards.
- Execution of E2E functional test cases based on the requirements
- Execution of technical impact analysis and regression tests.
- Functional design and implementation of maintenance requests
