    Minimum HNC plus 10 years relevant experience in Engineering

    • Experience in designing with a range of manufacturing techniques particularly sheet metal fabrications, machined components, stainless steel and engineering plastics
    • Very strong 3D modelling skills and the ability to produce detailed 2D production drawings taking into account tolerances.
    • Experience in designing automated electro mechanical equipment;
    • Ability to perform engineering calculations and analysis;
    • An understanding of electrical design interactions and interfaces with motors, sensors etc.
    • Ability to design for manufacture and assembly;
    • Experience of value engineering practices;
    • Design of equipment for harsh environments and high reliability;
    • An understanding of the machinery directive and CE marking regulations

  • Outline of Job Requirements Duties will include:-

    • Attend specification meetings with customers, providing authoritative contribution regarding the mechanical design aspects of the project.
    • contributing creative ideas - producing design schemes -producing detail drawings
    • Responsible for ensuring greater integration of mechanical and electrical design on projects to ensure that these are fully coordinated
    • Maintain and improve mechanical design working practices i.e. issue systems, mods, print systems etc.
    • Efficient time management including monitoring and control of cost targets in design, purchase, and assembly.
    • Direct design work on customer projects
    • Carry out risk assessments on machinery
    • Liase with all departments to ensure the overall project is completed on time and budget.
    • Provide assistance to Assembly personnel during the build phase of a project.
    • Provide support to Sales and the Customer Applications Manager regarding concept drawings, carton appraisals, design hours, parts costs and assembly hours.
    • Attend regular project progress meetings to report project status and

    contribute to iterative project planning.
