Description
A Leading Engineering and Design Consultancy currently requires several Electrical Design Engineers to provide support during a period of high profile rail redevelopment projects. You will be involved throughout architectural, mechanical and electrical design services.Essential Experience:
• Relevant experience in electrical engineering design for the UK rail sector.
• Able to demonstrate proficient experience of Electrical systems design with an emphasis on electrical building services design including MV/LV distribution equipment and systems, lighting design, standby generation and cabling and earthing systems for stations and depots.
• Working knowledge of design software including system modelling, cable and lighting design.
• Will have extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the design office environment and delivery of design from out-based design teams.
• Previous experience working within a project matrix structure delivering projects from conceptual to detailed design phases.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Performing required activities associated with projects. (investigation, analysis and design)
• Preparing and registering all relevant documentation and design reports.
• Maintaining ongoing communication with relevant Project Leaders/Team Leaders, and clients when required, to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project.
• Contributing to the resolution of technical issues on projects and providing technical guidance to other team members.
• Working in collaboration with other rail design & services disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
• Gaining awareness of, and familiarity with, the commercial aspects of projects to develop commercial skills.
• Acquiring knowledge and practical skills, aimed towards gaining Chartered status or equivalent.
• Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team.
