Description
For one of our clients in The Hague we are currently looking for a Senior Control Solution Engineer. This is for the duration of at least 4 months plus extensions.
The main objectives to be achieved are:
Owner and development responsible for specification regarding all components, systems used in the control network domain; such as MSS, MGW, HLR, SGSN, GGSN, STP, BSC, RNC, etc.
Owner and development responsible for specification regarding all components, systems used as network probes System Supplier selection and System Introduction (tested, optimized and operational when introduced in the network)
Solution Specification and standardization of solutions and overall designs for control platforms and probing systems.
Defining capacity planning Rules for network infrastructure platforms Defining design guidelines for control platforms and probing systems Control platform and probe system software release planning, testing and implementation Design and data builds for Test environment/platforms Perform the control platform/service provider selection (or will take part in DT/TMO international control platform tenders)
Perform trials and pilots of control platforms/service provider products. Take the lead (technical) in local RFQs for control platforms and provide technical support in international RfQs for control platforms
Dictate client's technical requirements to equipment suppliers, in order to guarantee that supplier roadmaps are fully in line with client's medium and long term strategy
Develop appropriate systems and processes to ensure consistent solution design for standardized Control products ready for deployment in the network, taking requirements (also maintainability and monitoring requirements) and considerations of all impacted departments and disciplines into account.
Contribution to budget (IPF) process and developing business cases Developing competence in new Control Network and probing system Technologies Deliver 3rd line support by participating in the Problem management process Ensure cost efficiency and reduction lies at the heart of all defined solutions
Overall purpose of position The (Sr.) Control Solution Engineer will translate the project requirements, required future capabilities into real solutions to be used (ie a functional design). He/she will strive for standardization and simplification, challenge & refine the given requirements in order to ensure quality, cost efficiency and reduction lies at the heart of all defined solutions
Maintain the design guidelines and relevant department documentation in line with the reality to enable information sharing within the team and with other departments.
Ensure synchronization with the TMO counterparts.
