Job Title: Guidewire Business Systems Analyst

Work Experience: 5+ years as a BSA, 2 years of P&C Insurance, 2 years of Guidewire (Policy, Billing, Claims), Agile, CBAP (an asset)

DESCRIPTION:

Uses business and technical knowledge to participate in the re-engineering of business operations to improve business results. Evaluates business requirements and models data and/or system requirements. Analyzes and documents business problems or should be of moderate complexity. Develops test plans and tests and approves new system behaviors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Evaluates complex business requirements; performs process analysis of customer activities to determine alternative business solutions or process improvement opportunities.

- Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation of business requirements.

- Analyzes and documents complex business problems across business functions and recommends solutions.

- Develops test plans and tests and approves new system behaviors to ensure alignment with business objectives and test plans.

- Coordinates upgrades and rollouts of larger, more complex scope including raining and monitoring performance.

- Contributes to the development of project plans; assigns and monitors tasks. Analyzes feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential programs.

- Depicts moderately complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; contributes to education within department(s) on business vision and plan and within business units on the impact of change.

- Creates and implements business operation standards and procedures. Assists in the development of methods and tools to track and measure results.

- Consults on complex business issues and design considerations.

- Works with other departments to coordinate interdepartmental activities in order to ensure that the company meets customer expectations. Assists in problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with company policies.

- Assists in the preparation of user documents and training materials. May provide technical training and user support to business groups. - Assists in the development of communication plans and related activities.

- Assist in communications with customers both internal and external, eg vendors, business partners and Information Technology.

SKILLS:

- 2+ years experience in Guidewire Policy Center, Claims Center and or Billing Center.

- 5+ years of experience with P&C Insurance.

- 5+ years experience as a BSA or BA.

- Knowledge of SDLC Methodologies. Working experience in Agile methodology.

- Experience in preparing Business Requirements and Process documentation.

- Good understanding of Insurance business functions; gathering information; Coordination with all the stake holders.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Business Systems analyst certification such as CBAP

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience

- General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies

- General knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures

- Skills in object, data and/or process modelling; financial analysis and planning; business value analysis; business process design

- Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills

- Log all changes and initiate Change Management process by communicating the information to the Project Manager.

- Review all documentation from the QA Lead and provide input.

- Provide guidance in test strategy, test planning and ensuring function tests are comprehensive.

- Answer questions regarding test outcomes and help in interpreting test results.

- Negotiate with users to determine Must-have changes and Do-later changes.

- Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills

-Experience Sharepoint, Excel pivot tables, Visio, SDLC, writing uses cases, process flows, MS Project, SQL queries, SSIS, Crystal Reports, RUP, UML, Web-based technology and architecture, GENIUS, SAP, IBC Regulatory Reporting and/or Claims would be an asset.
