Description
The contract is with a large consultancy to be on assignment at a large European site in Brussels.
The client is seeking an IS Consultant with extensive experience in Java development to contribute to resolving complex problems in production.
Tasks:
. Provide advice and assistance in any area associated with the procurement, provision, delivery, maintenance, deployment, hosting, effective use of information systems and their environment
. Assist in problem resolution/problem solving in production
. Able to complete a quick diagnostic of a problem reported in production
. Able to quickly develop hotfixes or bug fixes in preproduction and production
. Able to cope with fast changing technologies used in web applications management
. Able to communicate directly to helpdesk (1st and 2nd level)
. Provide technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation to information systems
. Document technical implementations and the composites
. Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with users
. Assist in the testing, technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting
Work Environment/Technologies:
. Very good knowledge of BPMN modelling frameworks and tools
. In-depth knowledge of Java development (including webservices)
. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies (eg. RUP)
. Technologies:
Java/JEE6, ejb3, XML, Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL), HTML, CSS;
Knowledge of Rational Team Concert or similar collaborative source-control products
. Exp of Workflow applications
. Exp with relational databases
. Ability to apply high quality standards to all tasks
. Ability to provide a quick diagnostic of the problem reported in production
. Capable of writing and presenting studies, to give presentations about the project
. Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills
. Exp in team working and ability to work in an international/multi-cultural environment
