SQL Server DBA - 6 Month Contract - LeicesterSQL Server DBA required for a 6 month contract to join a well known retail company based in Leicester. My client is looking for a DBA who can add to their highly skilled existing team to improve the performance of their systems.
As the successful SQL Server DBA you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications systems & BI. As part of the DBA team you will be responsible for database design, tuning, maintenance, archiving, backup and recovery.
Requirements:
- Skilled in Performance tuning
- Ability to resolve issues effectively
- Great communication skills
- Experience migrating data
- 24/7 production support of SQL Clustered Server databases/applications
- Coach and mentor Junior DBAs as well as be responsible for functional workloads
- Design both logical and physical Clustered Server environment including SAN, OS and DB Engine configuration standards
- Maintain Data integrity through backup and recovery utilities; Query Optimisation; Database tuning; Coding Triggers, Complex Views, Indexes and Stored Procedures
- Systems administration on operation systems with the Windows server family (Windows 2000, Windows Enterprise Clustered Environments)
- Perform indexes and stored procedure tuning; handle security, backups and recovery
- Programming using SQL and Windows scripting tool
Previous experience working with cloud technologies and SSAS would be a very desirable.

This role will be paid between £300-£400/day dependent on experience. Cloud experience may be a factor considered.
