Senior Java Developer required - Daily Rate ContractA leading software engineering team is looking for an experienced Java developer to maintain and enhance a range of in-house software
The successful Java Developer will have the opportunity to work on next generation digital intelligence processing platforms, integrate the latest big data technologies and open source products when appropriate and have an opportunity and have an opportunity to learn about big data and modern technologies as part of a wider development community.
Contract role: 6 months
Daily Rate: DOE
Location: Cork
Your role:
- Collaborate with the project managers to ensure the delivery of accurate project documentation and designs
- Follow an agile development approach
- Create detailed technical design specifications and documentations
- Work with the technical team lead and the product owners to implement requirements during the development sprints
- Work closely with the business analyst team to understand the user stories/ requirements during a development sprint and deliver new functionality against these
- Work with key stakeholders and organisational partners when applicable
Skills:
- Strong and relevant experience with a proven track record of delivering database projects to time, cost, quality and meeting customer's expectations and requirements using a recognised methodology
- Experience of developing scalable, high volume, high availability, enterprise- wide business systems
- Proven experience of common development tools, for example Ant, Gradle and eclipse
- Strong understanding of the Enterprise Java Stack with a proven expertise in using JEE technologies such as EJB, JMS, Web Services
- Expert knowledge of Spring or Spring MVC
- Familiarity with common development best practices (e.g. TDD, Agile, Scrum)
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience with MapReduce and Hadoop and dealing with BigData
- Knowledge of puppet, vagrant, MongoDB, cucumber and NoSQL technologies
