My client, a leading commercial bank requires a seasoned Enterprise Data Architect to provide architectural leadership in the support of the Data Architecture for the bank.Rate £700pd - Length 6 Months - Location London - Client Banking
Reporting functionally to the CMB SwD Head of Data Architecture, the Enterprise Data Architect opportunity is a business-facing architecture advisory, thought leadership and delivery role specialising in the shaping the technology vision in support of our business objectives.
In an advisory capacity it involves working with all parts IT, Change Delivery and Business leaders to develop technology architecture strategies; communicate complex technology situations and their solutions and assess challenging technology problems providing advice and direction to resolve the issues.
In a thought leadership role it is to provide a point of view on new technologies and how they may be applied in pragmatic ways to deliver commercially sound and innovative ways of addressing new and existing business challenges.
Most importantly in a delivery capacity, it is to be able to architect, design and estimate complex Commercial Banking solutions. The role requires individuals with a passion for the detail, an understanding of governance, deep experience in system integration, and a capability to frame and deliver a compelling argument.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Proven track record in pragmatic architectural/technical design in financial business systems as well as solid software development experience
* Track record of delivery under diversified/matrix team structure
* Sound appreciation of the full software development life cycle, including release management
* Understanding of commercial (or investment) banking products and system solutions
* Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
* Ability in working under pressure
* Able to work flexible hours and willingness to travel
* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation with good command of written and spoken English
* A strong understanding of Traditional Data Warehousing approaches and technologies
* A strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF
* A strong understanding of Data Architecture
* A strong understanding of Big Data practices and technologies
* A strong understanding of MDM practices and technologies
