My client is currently looking for an experienced Embedded C++ Developer to join them on a contract basis.Role Title: Embedded Systems Developer with C++
Role Type: Contract (3 months with possibility of extending)
Rate: DOE
This role is based in Dublin 2.
The role:
The successful candidate will transform a prototype into a final product ready for high volume deployment.
The work is focused on C++ code running on a multi-threaded embedded system using open source components. The final product must deliver world-class reliability, performance and fault-tolerance.
This is a critical role and the resulting product will have very high visibility within the industry.
This is a challenging role for someone to take part in a fast-pace high-visibility and innovative wireless solution deployment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver major improvements to C++ embedded application for reliability, performance and fault-tolerance
- Conduct detailed code review and testing to identify any issues
- Work is focused on C++ code but need to understand all aspects of the embedded system
- Build validation and fault-tolerance to deal with imperfect open source device drivers and APIs
- If needed, dive into open source driver and fix bug or add feature
Experience:
- Required, minimum 5 years of experience as a software developer in large enterprises, service providers or technology partners.
- Must have experience on Embedded Systems
- Must have excellent C++ development experience
The candidate must also demonstrate:
- Experience Developing multithreaded applications
- Knowledge of cross-compilers
- Embedded systems experience, covering OpenWRT or Linux
- Testing software on embedded systems
- Excellent ability to root cause issues in complex environment
- Fast pace, ability to deliver under pressure, excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work with others as part of a team
Desirable skills:
- Understanding of Wi-Fi technologies
- Knowledge of open source Wi-Fi drivers
- Understanding of networks, including TPC/IP and MAC layer
