Network Engineer, Firewall, NMS, data network, OSI7, Security.Network Engineer required for an 11 months fixed term contract in Chertsey.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Network firewall operation in UK covering Europe, CIS Middle East and Africa.
Your main responsibilities are to add and change firewall settings as requested, and to analyse any customer problems and to fix these appropriately.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage firewall rule.
Add/change/remove settings on firewall every day.
Check firewall status using NMS.
Manage assets.
Manage firewall including maintenance at all sites.
Update firewall when new one installed or removed.
Trouble shooting.
Take a call/mail from customer.
Trouble shoot on firewall and router.
Resolve the problem on the firewall.
Trouble reporting to customer.
Performance management.
NMS DB update.
Manage quality of service on firewall.
Manage utilization and response time.
On site supporting.
EDUCATION:
University degree or equivalent preferred (in a computer related discipline)
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Detail-oriented(meticulous) person.
Microsoft Excel.
Preferable some experience in network field.
Open-minded, good communication skills, customer-oriented and flexible.
EXPERIENCE:
Understanding of data network service and related protocol such as OSI7 layer.
Certified in one or more of the following (preferable): CCNA or Security related.
HOURS OF WORK:
37.5 hour week. Some weekend and evening work may be required for emergencies and projects.
SALARY & BENEFITS
£25,000 - £35,000 basic annual salary depending upon experience.
25 days annual leave.
Up to 15% discretionary performance based bonus per annum (following successful completion of probation period).
