I am looking to hire a Senior Highways Engineer for one of my Public Sector Client. Please read the below job Specification.
Additional Information:
This is a part time role working 3 days per week until March end with possibility of extension until next year.
Essential Roles and responsibilities:
The applicant must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience both in the application and at interview:
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline;
Significant, relevant experience in highways infrastructure management;
Extensive knowledge of highways pavement, civil structures, earthworks, technology and network management with expertise in one or more asset groups;
Knowledge of inspection, monitoring, assessment, maintenance, renewals and enhancement for key asset groups;
Confident and capable of representing ORR, of providing authoritative advice to senior managers within the highways industry;
Able to explain complex technical matters to non-technical colleagues at all levels (both within ORR and externally);
Sound project management skills, ability to prioritize and manage time effectively;
Strong team working skills, with experience of dealing with colleagues with different skills and different professional backgrounds; and
Working knowledge of cost estimating, contracts and supply chain management.
