Hey-ya! We’re thrilled that you’re here to apply for the UI Engineer position. It’s a real good full-time gig located in either our Chicago office or from the remote location of your choosing (as long as you're in the USofA).

We are…
A small but spirited bunch of doofuses who make amazing things to help creative people show off their work. Right now nearly 900,000 people are using Carbonmade portfolios. That number is growing steadily, new projects are underway and we need a special someone to help us build out all our fancy schmancy interfaces. We think that person should be you. Maybe. Listen, we can’t be 100% certain, but we’re almost probably sure it should be you.

You are…
An experienced UI Engineer that has built out complex interfaces for a fairly large user base. Ideally, you’re comfortable improvising and hacking together prototypes one day and knocking out production code the next. You’ll be vital to helping us release better and even more beloved versions of Carbonmade. Here’s some stuff you should be down with:

You’re great at JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and cross-browser implementation

You have experience writing native JavaScript WITHOUT the use of a framework

You’re comfortable with optimizing JavaScript/CSS performance

You have experience working with animation (not required but would be nice)

You've built out complex interfaces

You have enough experience with Git to explain it to a designer (but probably won’t have to)

You’re actively interested and stay up to date on all the new web goodies (HTML5, Canvas, WebGL, Canvas, Audio API, File API, etc.)

You’re happy as a clam working independently and collaborating with designers and developers in real-time

You're all about owning projects

You can communicate good

You love solving problems, like a regular MacGyver

You know who MacGyver is (optional but helpful)

You have experience working remotely

Most of all, you’re at home banging your head against challenging problems
