Description:
The Buyer has responsibility for providing procurement support to the business, with a focus on spot buying, driving compliance and supporting strategic sourcing activities. Your main focus will be cross-sector procurement customers and colleagues in Benelux area in specific.
Responsibilities:
Functional sourcing & procurement
• One time buy in supplier selection and within given boundaries
• Drive compliance with purchasing policies, Procure to Pay good practice, policies and procedures
• Ensure that corporate standards are defined, implemented and constantly optimized to support the procurement infrastructure
• Proactively contributing to overall departmental objectives
• Executes all buying tasks efficiently, effectively and with success
• Drive supplier selection through sourcing projects
• Execute sourcing projects under Category Manager leadership for assigned sub categories
• Successfully executes buying/sourcing projects
• Monitor day-to-day supplier performance according to standards defined in contract and Inform Category and Sourcing Managers on performance of suppliers
• Ensure strong relationship with business customers within the cluster
• Participate in supplier interactions
Transactional procurement
• Approve / deny PO in the systems by analysing the items being purchased at the right supplier, with the right commodity code and pricing
• Rerouting of PO's in specific cases to relevant buyers/cat.mgrs (e.g. Non Catalog Items & down payments above threshold)
• Is able to have existing PO's successfully changed or canceled by internal client when needed based on review
• Make the decision to create a catalog in the system
• Own and approve catalog content
• Manage and deliver communications regarding catalogs to local suppliers
• Drive adoption of catalog usage
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers
• Create, approve, maintain and update contracts in the system (e.g. at expiry date)
• Drive adoption of contract and preferred supplier usage
• Manage, under the Procurement Service Center Manager request, specific programs linked or not with the procurement categories under his responsibility
Performance metrics
• Total Cost Reduction / Total cost avoidance
• Risk mitigation (supplier quality, compliance …)
• Catalog set-up and usage
• Contract/preferred supplier usage
• On time delivery
• Feedback from business customers
Technical skills:
• Rate negotiation experience
• RFP experience to include RFP management , supplier evaluation criteria, RFP construction, Supplier Negotiation
• Familiarity with complex sourcing strategies
• Ideal candidate would have experience on the buyer side with CW landscape or staffing industry
• Looking for a seasoned contractor with a procurement background and at least 5 years with relevant experience.
Personal skills:
• Education minimal at Bachelor degree level
• Dutch, English & French (written and oral)
• Quickly adaptable and flexible to fast changing circumstances
• Convincing, influencing and communication skills
• Result oriented, assertive and stress resistant
• Open for occasional travel
