Senior Network HP Automation Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA

Education: 4-year College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

1 year + - could be multi-year project

Requires phone interview and face to face interview (sorry - no Skype)

General maintenance and upgrades. Monitoring performance. HP tool suite. Needs to support tools as well as using the tools. Must be well rounded. Also ability to do general IT things like writing scripts. Take software install it, upgrade it and be proficient in using it from a professional standpoint. All the tools listed are required.

Must have fundamental networking skills. Need to understand load balancers/Firewalls, but won't be installing or using them necessarily.

Skills Required:
Working knowledge and experience with administering HP Network Management Tool Suite; Network Node Manager (NNMi), Network Automation, PerfSPI for Metrics, PerfSPI for Quality Assurance, and Operations Orchestration
Work experience with routed networks, including hands-on experience with Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancers, Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, and related equipment.
Work experience with MPLS, sniffers, Routers, Switches, VOIP, multicast, AAA, CIP, BGP, OSPF, TACACS, DNS, and DHCP.
Work experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MySQL, Perl, Java and Javascript
Strong interpersonal skills
MS Office Suite skills
Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus
Quality Assurance experience - unit, peer, system, and integration testing.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Provide excellent documentation
Participate and lead in project management processes.

Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge and experience with administering Apache HTTP Server
HP Network Automation Custom Driver creation for network devices with CLI and Menu Driven interfaces

Experience Required:
5 - 10 years of network engineering or system administration in a corporate network environment
Working with users to discuss problem analysis, systems modifications and gathering of requirements

The successful candidate will be become a member of a Network Projects team within NS IT. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to administer and support the HP Network Management Tool Suite (Network Node Manager, PerfSPI for Metrics, PerfSPI for Quality Assurance, Network Automation, and Operation Orchestration). Adherence to Norfolk Southern network standards and procedures is required. Candidate will be expected to work overtime and travel when need arises. Travel will be rare but may be necessary upon occasion.
