We're a well-funded, small startup of fifty, shaping the way independent publishers distribute their work and iconic brands market themselves. And we're starting it all on Pinterest.Mattermark just called us the fastest growing startup in Ohio this year. No idea how they calculate that stuff, but I thought it was pretty cool.
We build Ahalogy to make creators more empowered, brands more authentic, and the web a more beautiful place. Society deserves content with integrity and marketing with meaning. Our products, community, and service are how we try to achieve that, and at the core are beautifully designed experiences.
Team
Design at Ahalogy is a tight team of three. We grow slowly on purpose, but now's the time to bring in new skills and passions. Design roles are robust ones; they're the glue of Ahalogy. We're responsible for creating the human experiences of our tools, connecting product, engineering, data science, partner success, marketing, and sales. Versatility is key. No matter the specialty, we talk brand strategy and metrics, use data to inform iterative design solutions, and steward our work through implementation.
Thanks to the growth of Pinterest, content marketing for brands, and publishing innovations today, design has never been more important. These are exciting times for our team.
Role
You, our new experience designer, love creating elegant systems, not just with pixels, but interactions, words, animations, and data as well.
That means you're the voice of our partners, representing them and communicating their jobs to be done. You've got the opportunity to create our research practice, supplementing it with product data, analytics, and support tickets. Sometimes that means exploring brand-new latent needs behind what to make, and sometimes that means going deep into interactions to figure out how to make something.
Once we understand the needs, opening Photoshop or Sketch isn't your first step. You're comfortable writing, sketching, wireframing, mocking, or prototyping if it's right for the job; you can comfortably transition between different levels of fidelity. You're confident in your ability to communicate your design intent to all different kinds of folks, relishing the feedback and constructive criticism you get in return.
And you've shipped a product on the web that you're proud of and can talk through at length, both the good decisions and the ones you want back.

Ahalogy is a distributed team; we've got folks in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Flagstaff, Columbia, Chicago, Columbus, Philadelphia, New York, Hamburg, Kyiv, Seoul, and here in Cincinnati. And we love it that way. So you want to stay where you are? Cool. Want to move to an underrated city with ridiculously cheap rent? Ahalogy HQ is on Cincinnati's Mount Lookout Square, and we'd be happy to relocate you to our beautiful city.
