Leading regulatory body based in Canary Wharf are looking to hire an experienced Communications Manager for an initial 6 month contract but is likely to be extended until May 2016. This position will involve developing and driving communications to support accountability within financial services.

The successful candidate will manage the project's overall communications strategy and activities, and oversight of the review and sign-off of all relevant publications. You will have ownership of the project's stakeholder engagement, and will also be expected to provide communications advice to the senior management and members of the Executive. Due to this the post requires excellent communication skills and organisational capabilities alongside SME knowledge of the financial services industry and in particularly the retail/business banking sector.

The Skills and experience needed for this Canary Wharf based Communications Manager contract role are highlighted below

  • Excellent track record as a communications manager or head of communications
  • Experience of the financial services sector and/or financial regulation and policy-making
  • Excellent decision making and confidence in your ability to use sound judgement to reach the best conclusion
  • Strong project and man management skills
  • Ability to deal with the media on public affairs issues
  • Can illustrate successful examples of long term and complex planning and strategy
