Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor, Uxbridge - 6 Month Contract

My client is a FMCG company who are currently looking to recruit an Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor.

The key responsibilities for the Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor include:
*Provide advice to key personnel on the day to day operation of EHS management,
*Carry out pro-active and reactive EHS inspections, audits, incident investigations (including employers liability claims investigations) and risk assessments to ensure that safe systems of work, equipment and premises are maintained as a minimum to legal compliance,
*Takes the lead and reports to the site EHS Manager on the implementation of the management system in compliance with ISO14001 and OHSAS 1800,
*Advise on remedial action required to minimise the risks to the environment and the health and safety of employees in a risk based process,
*Facilitate compliance with EHS legislation and corporate guidelines and provide appropriate advice on EHS matters, including capital and change projects,
*Issue EHS instructions to all levels of management as applicable and assist managers in carrying out their EHS responsibilities,

Develop, implement and support the following:-
*Manual Handling and Ergonomic Assessments
*Fire Risk Assessments and Emergency Planning
*Workplace and DSE Assessments, including home working
*First Aid Requirements
*Contractor management and Permit Systems
*Near Miss reporting programme
*COSHH Assessments
*Stress management initiatives
*Safe Operating Procedure Development
*Waste Management
*Energy efficiency initiatives
*Equipment compliance PPM and Pre use checks including company Cars
*Personal Protective Equipment management

The key experience and knowledge of the Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor include:
*NEBOSH certificate considered Diploma or equivalent preferred
*Experience in delivering training in EHS
*Competent in leading Risk Assessments in all forms; COSHH, Manual Handling
*Used to dealing with information of a confidential nature and displaying a high level of integrity, capable of dealing with a wide range of people, in person and on the telephone, with discretion and confidentiality,
*Flexible and proactive approach and experience of working independently as well as part of a wider EHS team
