Underwriting Team Leader - Consumer Finance
The roles is as part of a team to ensure timely and accurate administration of the Company's loan products including direct liaison with the Company's introducers and customers on the telephone and by correspondence. Attention to detail and accuracy at all times is a prerequisite as well as ensuring that the Company's processes and procedures are followed. The role would involve building the underwriting team as well as underwriting credit proposals.
The key aspects of the underwriting role are to:
*Underwrite referred deals according to policy and mandate
*Manage more information queries
*Investigate potential Frauds, PEP and Sanctions matches
*Log underwriting appeals
*Monthly review of underwriting
*Verification of the completeness and accuracy of credit proposals
*Keep electronic and paper filing in order at all times
*To keep up to date with the Company's products
*To represent the Company in a professional and confidential manner at all times
*To pay due care and attention to your own and others health and safety at all times
Good educational background with proficiency demonstrable in maths and English
Computer literate, including MS Office products and Email
1-2 years previous underwriting experience - preferably in a consumer finance environment - this could be retail finance, personal loans or motor finance, but could also include secured loan underwriting
Perm/37.5 hours a week
